Dr Condie welcomes review of Shelly Bay process

Candidate for Wellington mayor, Dr Jenny Condie, has welcomed the independent review of the process surrounding Council decisions on Shelly Bay development.

"Wellingtonians need to know whether process was followed and if councillors were given accurate information before voting on decisions regarding Shelly Bay," Dr Condie said.

Dr Condie would be an independent voice on the issue of the Shelly Bay development, as she has not been involved with any of the prior decisions.

If the review found that councillors were given incorrect information, then as mayor Dr Condie would bring those decisions back to the Council for another vote.

"Regardless of whether you support or oppose the decisions that were made, good governance demands that if votes were made based on incorrect information then they need to be revisited."
